Most touch typists peek at the number row. It's the most neglected typing skill — and the easiest 5 WPM gain you can make. Master 1-0 without looking, and your numeric data entry, coding, and date typing transform.

Why number row is hardest

Finger assignment (QWERTY)

Standard touch typing:

  • 1: left pinky
  • 2: left ring
  • 3: left middle
  • 4: left index
  • 5: left index (stretch)

  • 0: right pinky

Master with Shift held by opposite hand:
